Decembre 2002:

At the request of a few French submitters, about 3,980 names have been eliminated including those of the Maous and Schrameck families.

November 2002:

A dictionary for words and expressions from different origins (Arabic, French, Italian, Greek, Turkish, English & Hebrew) which were commonly spoken in Egypt by many of us has been compiled from an original Document submitted by Joseph Jesua of Paris. Many former egyptian residents contributed these words. The dictionary can be found at Dico Franco-Egyptien. If you have corrections or additional words to suggest, please write to the webmaster.

October 2002:

A new design in the web page and display. A new search engine ( Simple and Advanced) using a new database makes it easier to locate a surname. Under the new Index, you will find Persons cards with Notes and create Pedigree and Descendant charts . Under the traditional surname Index and presentation, you will find Family cards with photos (if available).

August 2002:

New Farhi family branch who started with Anna Farhi ( 1854-1934) emigrating from Palestine in the 1870's to South Africa. She was called Fourie in Afrikaans. Photos of Alice and Widad Farhi.

Benjamin Angel submitted a family tree (6,700 names) that is linked to 3 Farhi spouses: Corinne Babani to Ephraim Farhi, Adrienne Oestreicker to Tewfik Farhi and Aline Dreyfuss to Claude Farhi. (see the very large document August Update for a complete list of the new entries) .

May 2002:

On May 13, the First Farhi Reunion Dinner was held in Paris. More tham 40 Farhi of different origin attended. A similar dinner was held on the same night in Istanbul by Farhi living there.

Due to growing size of the data base, we changed the web server for Farhi . org and introduced a few changes: All Surnames have been converted to lower case. Another change will occur on the Switzerland mirror site. At the next update, it will no longer carry the personal cards with notes, it will just show the Web Cards.
